Poem for poetry project

Sleepless Night

When I was a kid, mother and father used to take me out late at night
Out the door and on to the motorcycle
Through the city we ride
The architecture and tree of this city slips by my eyes, they never looked so beautiful
City lights like fireflies, zooming pass my eyes.
Like water glides past a swimmer
The cooling yet cozy wind, hugs me as they glide pass
I never fear the cold
As their love wraps around me, keeping me warm in this quiet night
The neon lights light up the city of Vietnam
Along with the stars they tired my eyes
My eyelids fall as sleep whispers to me
Like a lullaby, their calming voice
Eyes shut, knowing that they will be here to protect throughout the whole night
The ride comes to an ends, as I feel the warm cradle of my mom
From her cradle to the bed, the beautiful memory of the ride sink into my head
During long nights, the memory comes to me
Like a lullaby, it brings me to my dream
Where I relive the happiest moment in my life
